Antique French Silver Flying Cupids with Doves Snuff Box 19th Century

Offered for sale is this exquisite French silver snuff box with cupids and doves in a detailed landscape in high relief on the lid and a repeating flower pattern on the sides. Gold washed interior. Marked with an "EE" French maker's mark and a Minerve mark for 800 silver. No monogram or removal. Aesthetic styling on the repeating flower motif dates it to circa 1880.

The snuff box measures 4 1/8 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide by 1 inch tall. It weighs 97 grams (shippng weight under 1 lb).

Condition: Very good. Minor surface wear on the high points of the design, and slight deformation around the hinge, visible mostly from inside. The hinge works well; the box opens easily and snaps closed tightly.
