Rare Set of 12 Steuben Amethyst Glass 2680 Finger Bowls & Stands Signed c 1920
Exquisite set of one dozen Steuben purple amethyst glass finger bowls with matching under plates in the rib optic Frederick Carder pattern 2680. About half the pieces are signed in STEUBEN acid-stamped block letters on the base. Steuben used this signature from 1903 to 1933. Please note: Steuben did not uniformly sign all its work until the 1950s.
This set dates to the 1920s. Fire polished rims and finely ground bases and pontils as you would expect from Steuben. It is exceptionally rare to find a complete set of one dozen matching finger bowls and under stands from this period.
Each finger bowl is 2 1/4 inches tall by 4 3/4 inches wide. Each deep-welled underplate is 6 1/4 inches wide. Each bowl and underplate weighs 9 oz; the set of twelve weighs about 7 lbs (shipping weight 15 lbs double boxed).
Condition: Excellent; near mint. No chips, cracks or wear anywhere except for one scratch on the underside of one of the stands, and small table wear marks on one or two more of the stands. Please view the detail photos.
