Antique 18th century German Hoechst Höchst Faience Covered Server
Very fine hand painted 18th century Höchst faience covered server with colorful flowers in in yellow, green, blue and brown in the style known as Deutsche Blumen. The Höchst factory was short-lived, existing during the 2nd half of the 18th century and was supported by the Elector of Mainz. At first it produced only faience, later it produced both faience and porcelain. Hochst blue wheel maker's mark. This server is solidly made and swirl-molded. Circa 1760. Fine example of 18th century German faience.
Condition: Fair to Good, with flakes around the rims and foot rim, and glaze loss on the artichoke knob and scroll handles, and wear on the high points of the design. No cracks. Crazing of the glaze. Please view the detail photos.
