Antique 8 Inch Spode Staffordshire Blue Transfer Net Pattern Plate 1795
Offered for sale is this fine blue Staffordshire transfer lobed plate by Spode in the "Net Pattern" design. The plate is early Chionoiserie pearlware, circa 1795. No maker's mark. This pattern was first made by Spode, then copied by Herculaneum and other makers.
The plate is 8 1/8 inches wide. It weighs 7 oz (shipping weight 1 lb).
Condition: Good, save for one small rim flake as shown. Shiny glaze, no crazing of the glaze. No stains. The usual stilt marks and imperfections of early pottery production.
