7 Piece Antique English Hand Painted Scroll Border Ironstone Dessert Set c 1830
Offered for sale is a colorful set of handpainted ironstone dessert plates and round tazza with salmon, blue and gold leaf decoration. Impressed "SEMICHINA" marks, with a blue-tinted pearlware glaze. The set dates to the 1830s, during the transition period between pearlware and ironstone.
The 6 dessert dishes are 9 1/2 inches wide. The round tazza is 10 1/4 inches wide across the handles by 2 1/2 inches tall. The set weighs 8 lbs (shipping weight 11 lbs).
Condition: No chips or cracks on five of the dishes, though there is minor wear on the gold on the center, as shown. One dish has a tight rim hairline, visible only from the back, as shown. The tazza is in excellent condition. Please view the detail photos.
