Antique Free Blown Flint Glass Ruffled Ring Pitcher circa 1840 AS IS
Offered for sale is an unusual and fancy antique free blown glass pitcher. The pitcher is tooled into horizontal rings around the body, has an applied rigaree ruffle on the rim, and has a lovely applied handle with a curl at the base. It is blown of clear heavy flint glass with a grayish cast. It dates to about 1840 to 1850.
The pitcher is 7 3/4 inches tall by 5 inches wide across the widest part of the body. It weighs 2 lbs 10 oz (shipping weight 5 lbs). It has a polished pontil mark.
Condition: As is. The entire base of the pitcher seems to have cracked off and been reglued. However, since all the damage is near the base, this is still a lovely shelf piece. It is being sold as is. Please see the detail photos below.
